A quantized collection of numbers is more compressible and will have only marginally greater noise if the quantization level is well chosen. Larger quantization levels will produce better compression but can destroy real information if they are too high. QUANTIZE < 1/4 sigma causes only 1-2 % increase in noise. Null value: 0 => no quantization. Tasks: FITAB....Writes data in FITS format to tape and disk.
