The "AIPS number" of a program is the (hexadecimal) number attached to its name when it is executed. Thus, AIPS2 has AIPS number 2, AIPSBF has AIPS number 15, and APCLNB has AIPS number 11. Interactive AIPS can have AIPS numbers between 1 and NA, where NA is set locally (to 4 at the VLA and 6 in Charlottesville). The Checker program AIPSC for AIPSn uses AIPS number n+NA. The batch preparation program uses 2*NA+1 and batch jobs use 2*NA+1+NQ, where NQ is the batch queue number. Thus, at the VLA, batch uses AIPS numbers 10 and 11 and, at CV, batch uses 14 and 15. Null value: 0 Null value means the current AIPS number. -1 means all AIPS numbers. Verbs: PRTMSG.....Print selected contents of the message log file.
