AIPS 15JAN96 Release

15JAN96 IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE

The 15JAN96 release of AIPS is no longer available, please refer instead to the latest version.

For the record, here are the systems 15JAN96 was install-tested on, and their DDT results:

Sparc, SunOS 5.4: from source (SC3.0.1 compilers): AIPSMark(93): 1.19 (Sparc IPX+Weitek, 32 Megs).
Sparc, SunOS 4.1.2: from source (SC2.0.1 compilers): AIPSMark(93): 0.97 (Sparc 2, 32 Megs, some other activity -- web/ftp server, license mgr; fairly quiet mostly). Install performed "on top" of the previous 15JUL95 test installation.
Intel 486DX/66, Linux 1.2.8 (a.out): AIPSMark(93) 0.36 (only 16 megs of memory, on a very busy mail hub that handles up to tens of thousands of email messages per hour; probably would have been above 0.4 otherwise).
Intel Pentium/90, Linux 1.3.something-increasing-very-fast (ELF): AIPSMark(93) 0.97.
Dec Alpha OSF/1 (T)3.2: AIPSMark(93) 6.02 (Digital AlphaStation 600 5/266, 128 Megs). This is somewhat slower than expected; I may repeat the test just to make sure there was nothing else interfering with the run. Install performed "on top" of previous 15JUL95 test installation.
IBM RS/6000, AIX 3.2.5: AIPSMark(93): 3.82
HP (via guest account on a non-NRAO machine), HP-UX A.09.01: AIPSMark(93) 2.17 (HP 9000/735, some possible network slowdown).
SGI (via guest account on a non-NRAO machine), Irix 5.3: AIPSMark(94) 4.41 (Indigo 2, 150MHz R4400)

In addition, one test on a Sparc, SunOS 5.4, was performed using binaries.
