SunOS, Solaris Shared Library Problems

If you installed AIPS from a binary load-and-go tape on either SunOS 4 or Solaris 2, and were unable to use the provided binaries because of ld.so: libF77.so.2: not found (or a similar message), get in touch with me (see below) immediately. It turns out that Sun allows us to distribute the above library (and the other Fortran libraries) with AIPS, a fact that was unknown to me/us until recently (end of September 1994, that is).

15JUL94 Release No Longer Available

The current release of AIPS is described at the top of this page, and supercedes the version described here.

The installation testing was performed on these systems:

Due to time and space limitations, the HP and Ultrix installations were not tested for this version, nor was the Convex version as NRAO no longer has any Convex systems.
