Patches to 31DEC25

You will find a summary of patches made to 31DEC25 here.

With previous releases, we did not change the frozen release tar ball; user sites were required to download the text files and do any compilations themselves. But, beginning with 31DEC04, we provide binary releases for which user sites are not required to have compilers. Therefore, we have reversed our policy. These patches have been applied to the official code of 31DEC25 and may be downloaded using a 31DEC25 "Midnight Job". Any tarball taken after the change date listed below will already have the patches applied.

The following is a summary list of the patches in this release. To patch your version of AIPS, run a "MNJ" ($HOME/do_daily.hostname).

1. ALBUS did not read all of its adverbs. 2026-01-14
2. KNTR read an extra plane when the Clean beam was plotted in a separate panel.2026-01-16
3. VLBARUN and VLBAPIPE tried to write to a directory not properly created when OUTFILE was blank. 2026-01-20
4. TABED wrote confusing summary messages. 2026-02-3
5. RLDLY did not handle REFANT=0 well when DETIME was 0. 2026--2-06
6. VLBARUN and VLBAPIPE had hard failure caused by the patch listed above. 2026-02-13
7. $APLUNIX/ZTKOP2.C and $APLLNX64/ZTQSP2.C had missing includes required by modern systems.\ 2026-02-19
8. XAS.SHR did not define XLink as int and assumed that commons were okay by default. 2026-02-19
9. FTFLG did not handle short rows in expanded displays when flagging. 2026-03-25
10. PRPLT had small errors in plotting coordinates corrected and new plot types added with control of data outside the user's PIXRANGE.2026-04-29

13. TRANS copied CC and MF tables uselessly. 2026-05-21
14. XGAUS copied XG tables too much, mislabeled units at times, and handled one-pixel solutions poorly when writing out images. 2026-05-21
15. ZLASCL and PRDEVS.LIST were changed to add evince as a possible preview "printer". Added explain to PRINTER help file. 2026-05-27
16. XGAUS, AGAUS, ZEMAN, ZAMAN, RMFIT changed to only copy the large tables to the output residual cube. Changed them also to mark output images as blanked when needed. Changed them to write output images of any size if there are any valid pixels. 2026-05-28
17. SPLIT and SPLAT tried to extract frequency offsets from a CL table without making sure there was one. 2026-06-24
18. VBGLU had an error message incorrect and needed a test to make sure that the output did not pre-exist. 2026-07-10
19. CLIP applied APARM(9) as if it were an absolute number rather than a fraction of each spectrum. 2026-07-14
20. PRTUV could report errors when the user told it to stop. 2026-07-20
21. VBGLU had several errors when the data sets were not all that similar and used a poor sort routine. 2026-07-21
22. ALBUS had to change containers due to a change at one of the data sources. Added DOMODEL to select IRI instead of PIM if desired and improved output text info. 2026-09-08

24. POSSM did not test for magic blanks when computing auto- and cross-correlation functions. 2026-09-22
25. TECOR comments and help file said it was using magnetic filed model igrf13, but it actually uses igrf14. 2026-09-25
