HLPliSPX Run-time help for task liSPX

HELP SECTION

EXPLAIN SECTION

C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
EXIT
This option causes the interactive portion of LISPX to finish. The
task then resumes AIPS, releases the TV device, and writes the output
cataloged images.
C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
ABORT
This option causes the interactive portion of LISPX to finish. The
task then resumes AIPS, releases the TV device, and omits the output
text file and display of the fits to the spectra.
C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
REDO ALL
This option allows you to try to improve the solutions. The operation
examines all spectra for which there is a solution. Each spectrum is
plotted with its current fit. You may flag selected data samples and
try for a new fit. You may then declare the current fit to be good
or bad. In that case the output for the current spectrum is marked
flagged.
C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
NEW FIT
Selecting this option tells LISPX to use the current spectrum to try to
fit the model parameters. The new model is plotted after the fit. If
the fit fails, including for reasons specified in adverbs DPARM and
CPARM, all flagged channels are unflagged and the original solution is
reinstated and plotted.
C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
BAD
Selecting this option tells LISPX to mark the current pixel as "bad"
in the model images and then go on to the next pixel.
C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
GOOD
Selecting this option tells LISPX that the fit appears to be good. The
task stores the parameters in the model images and goes on to the next
pixel.
C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
CHAN RANGE
This option allows you to select a range of channels in the spectrum to
make it easier to flag points in an otherwise crowded display. The
current limits in the channels are indicated by vertical lines on the
display. Move the cursor to change the limit and hit buttons A or B to
switch between the lower and upper limit. Hit buttons C or D to exit
the function and have the selected range of channels be displayed. Note
that all channels in the spectrum are used in the fit even when only a
subset is displayed.
C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
RESET CHANS
This option undoes any CHAN RANGE that has been set and all channels in
the spectrum will be displayed.
C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
FLAG POINTS
This option turns on an interactive mode in which the current cursor
position selects values in the spectral plot which are displayed at the
top of the TV. To remove an image (spectral) point from the fit, move
the cursor to the point and hit buttons A or B. The data point will
change color. Hit buttons C or D to exit. The NEW FIT option will then
let you see if a more reasonable solution may be found.
C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
UNDO FLAGS
This option restores the original image data and solution to the editing
screen. You may then start the re-do operation over again.
C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
QUIT
This option tells the REDO LIST or REDO ALL functions to terminate
before the list or set of questionable pixels are complete.
Particularly REDO ALL can cause you to be in a seemingly infinite
sequence of pixels. This option lets you escape.
